The Practice Nurses also offer the Support to Stop Smoking Service by appointment in the Treatment Room.  You can speak to any one of the Practice Nurses regarding this.

All of our GPs offer minor operation slots for small procedures like removal of moles, cysts, joint injections etc.  Dr Gilbert and Dr Tonge offer fitting of coils and contraceptive implants.  These appointments must be pre-arranged with your GP.

Health Promotion Clinics
Prevention is better than cure. We take every opportunity to check on our patients’ health and offer advice on healthy living. We also offer a full range of special health promotion clinics by appointment with our practice nurses.

Community Care
The following health professionals work closely with the practice in specialised areas. They can each be contacted at the surgery.  The Community Midwife provides help and advice for all pregnant ladies in the practice, and care during labour at Paulton Hospital, and after the birth.

Ante-natal Care
We are pleased to offer all pregnant ladies care in a weekly ante-natal clinic run by the community midwife. We have access to beds at Paulton Memorial Hospital for uncomplicated deliveries. We will also be pleased to provide hospital care for mothers and new born babies at Paulton, after a delivery in the Royal United Hospital, Bath.

The District Nurse helps to care for sick or frail patients in their homes.

The Health Visitors
The health visitors have a separate telephone number 01761 412832.  They work to promote health within the community in all age groups. In particular they visit families with children under 5 years, and work with the doctors to check for their healthy growth and development, and other health needs for the population over 5 years.

Babies and Children
In order for us to pick up potential problems as early as possible, we offer your child regular development checks. All the doctors recommend the full course of baby vaccinations; these are given at regular Immunisation Clinics.

Family Planning
A full range of family planning advice and service is offered. Where possible we will make every effort for female patients to see a female member of staff if requested.

Minor Surgery
All the doctors perform surgical procedures such as joint injections, removal of small cysts etc. Warts and verrucae should be self treated for at least 3 months before contacting the Practice Nurse . Minor operations take place at surgery by arrangement.
